Werner Herzog's Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans has just received a new, full-length trailer. The film stars Nicolas Cage as a crooked detective and Eva Mendes also co-stars. The film received favorable reviews out of the Toronto and Telluride film festivals, particularly for Cage's performance. It is a film that looks very over the top, but that could be perfect for Cage. Give the trailer a watch below...

Thanks for that. Obviously, this is no Citizen Kane, but it looks like a fun experience.
@ James: Definitely. It actually looks like quite an original style as well.
The only reason I'm avoiding seeing this is Nicolas Cage, he's pretty much the kiss of death nowadays.
@ Anon: Tough to disagree with you, he has put forth a lot of poor efforts lately to put it lightly. This, however, doesn't look like any of his recent bombs, but it seems like an attempt at something more. Time will tell if those ambitions will pay off, but I think it is a film worth keeping your eye on.
The fact that it's Werner Herzog is a huge plus for me. But until I have proof that Cage isn't sleepwalking through the movie (again), then I'm remaining skeptical.
@ Anon: He is a terrific director so his involvement does make me enthusiastic. This seems like a great role for Cage, but we'll have to see if he delivers.
