Oscar telecast producers Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman announced today that Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin have agreed to co-host the 82nd Academy Awards. These two seem to have some solid chemistry as they are set to co-star alongside Meryl Streep in It's Complicated, and Martin himself has guest starred on Baldwin's 30 Rock.

@ MovieNut14: I agree! Seems like a good fit. I look forward to the Oscars regardless of who is hosting, but this makes me even more excited.

@ Andrew: It's interesting you bring that up because there must be some correlation with the film. I do agree that the Academy falls for Streep's performances way too easily and this decision certainly shows they're not shying away from that.
